When The City of Redwood City, California built their new Redwood Shores Library, AV Integrators was chosen to design and build 2 AV systems for the new state-of-the-art library facility primarily intended to attract and serve the youth of the surrounding vicinity. 


One of the systems was for the library’s new community room featuring a large flat screen display plus a large-venue projection system with a 5.1 surround sound audio system. 

This community room system is capable of HD projection of computer images as well as HD video playback via blu-ray disc. 

This community room is the largest of all such community rooms in the Redwood City Public Library System. 

The other system was for the library’s new teen room complete with a large screen TV for use with computers, game consoles, and a blu-ray disc player. 

Since its grand opening, the Redwood Shores Public Library has witnessed phenomenal growth in the demand for its services and facilities contributing to Redwood City Library’s “five star rating” from The Library Journal Index of Public Library Service.

Sun Microsystems,
Corporate Television Studio HDTV Upgrade

AV-integrators recently completed a 3 Gigabit HD-SDI upgrade
to Sun Microsystems’ corporate television studios in Menlo Park, CA. The studio was originally conceived and installed as a component analog production facility in the late 90’s and was
in need of an upgrade to HDTV technology.

While keeping the existing facility intact and operational,
AV-integrators worked around Sun’s busy production schedule to install a 72X72 Pro Bel 3 Gigabit router along with HD monitoring, an HD production switcher, and up/down format converters to seamlessly tie the new HD system into the existing infrastructure. To complement Sun’s HD cameras, AV-integrators provided the latest in HD recording technology with AJA’s Ki-Pro hard-disk HD recording system to complete the system transformation.

Sun’s Media Production Manager, Greg Posten remarked “With our new HD production capability, we can provide a much more engaging viewing experience to our viewers. Our new signal path is so clean that our video encoders utilize less data to encode an HD-SDI signal than our previous standard definition signal such that we can deliver a better picture to our viewers while at the same time consuming less bandwidth than before. It is counter-intuitive but we have the metrics to prove it.”

Redwood City Fair Oaks Community Center,
Community Room Audio System

AV-integrators designed and installed a new Multi-Purpose
Room audio system in the Fair Oaks Community Center for the City of Redwood City, California.

The new audio system features distributed ceiling speakers, new stage monitors, and multiple wireless microphones feeding an audio mixer/amplification system with feedback suppression and assistive listening system support.

This facility provides essential community services for Redwood City and its Multi-Purpose Room is heavily used for exercise classes, senior lunches, community meetings, private events, and even bingo games.

And in order to work around the room’s busy schedule, the system was installed over a weekend to minimize disruption to the center’s schedule of events.
